Dr. Chayan Banerjee

Postdoctoral Researcher

Chayan Banerjee is a researcher at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia. He earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Newcastle, Australia, in 2023. Building on a strong foundation in Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) and Physics Informed Machine Learning (PIML), Dr. Banerjee’s current research focuses on the frontier of Agentic AI, Autonomous Systems & World Models. His work specializes in sequential decision-making (SDM) in embodied agent pipelines and single/multi-agent systems, integrating LLMs with DRL for complex control. Alongside his focus on neuro-symbolic and agentic systems, he maintains a strong active interest in Medical AI, specifically applying these technologies to complex biomedical challenges, like developing physics informed, customised recommendations and decision support.

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,  Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.
